Fourteen questions, answered plainly

What does the $99 diagnostic cover?

The trip anywhere within 30 minutes of the shop, a hands-on diagnosis with a meter, and one written number for the fix. Approve the repair and the $99 is inside it. Decline, and $99 is the whole bill.

Do you charge more for the islands, the bridges or downtown?

No. One price card for the whole area. No bridge, island, gate, parking or Saturday surcharge.

How soon can you come?

A warm refrigerator gets a same-day window whenever we can make one; everything else is same-week, often next day. The peninsula, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley and James Island are the shortest drives of our day.

Can you quote a repair over the phone?

No — all pricing comes after the diagnostic, in writing. We can tell you whether the symptom sounds routine or serious, but the exact number needs a technician in front of the machine with a meter.

I rent — do you need my landlord?

Only for the approval. You host the visit, the technician texts the owner the photo and the written number, and the owner approves. The invoice and the warranty go to the owner by email.

How do you handle parking downtown?

It is our problem, not yours. The technician handles the meter or the loading zone; tell us about a side-yard gate or a piazza entrance in the notes and we come the right way in.

What do you repair?

Refrigerators and freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, ranges, ovens and cooktops, dishwashers, and the ice makers built into refrigerators. Not microwaves, wine coolers, standalone ice machines or commercial equipment.

Which brands?

Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele, JennAir, Bosch, KitchenAid, GE, Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, Maytag, Frigidaire, Electrolux, Kenmore and Fisher & Paykel — panel-front and built-in units included.

What if the job takes two visits?

We come back and finish with no second trip fee. The number you approved does not change.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes — a written warranty with every completed repair. Same fault inside the window, the return visit is on us.

My machine took water in a king tide — is it worth looking at?

Often, yes, but it needs a meter, not a guess. Do not run it. A motor or board that got wet can test fine or fail in a week; the diagnostic tells you which before you spend anything on it.

Will you tell me if it is not worth fixing?

Yes, at the diagnostic. We do not sell appliances, so there is no incentive to push a replacement — and no incentive to sell a repair on a machine that is done. $99 is the whole bill and you keep the answer.

Do you work Saturdays?

Yes, 9am–3pm, at the same price card. Sunday we are closed; after-hours calls go to voicemail and are returned first thing.

How do I pay?

Card, cash or check when the job is complete. Nothing up front, nothing for a phone conversation. Landlords and managers can be invoiced by email.

Appliance broken on the peninsula or across the bridges?

One call starts it: $99 diagnostic, one written price, repair from the van, written warranty.
